Already well into the construction phase, initial surface mining is planned to begin in late 2011 with first ore scheduled to be delivered to the concentrator in 2012. Reporting to the Training Superintendent Mechanical Trades, the primary focus of Trainer - Mechanical Trade - Production Equipment is to develop, implement and facilitate the curriculum of the mechanical apprenticeship program for all fixed plant mechanical employees working on the Oyu Tolgoi site. Primarily involved in the training for fixed plant machinery, you will be responsible for ensuring an integrated, systematic and quality approach and for including and promoting the company's health, safety and environmental policies in all training material. Collaborating and liaising with the Mongolian TVET schools, you will also be heavily involved in the development of the Mechanical Trades apprenticeship program. Adopting continuous improvement methodologies, you will strive to continually enhance, improve and update the mechanical training programs. To ensure success in this role, you will be qualified in training and development of vocational education of mechanical programs or hold equivalent industry specific experience. Substantial fixed plant mechanical experience within the mining industry is a distinct advantage for this position. Your experience working in developing countries and building strong relationships with a team consisting of diverse cultural backgrounds will set you apart from others.
